Instructional Designer

As an Instructional Designer, you would be part of a passionate team of training and design professionals to design effective and engaging curricula for team members across the organization. Our Learning and Instructional Design Team works cross-functionally with departments to ensure training content helps team members meet strategic goals throughout the Company. Your blend of creative and technical abilities would allow you to be a driving force in designing and executing quality learner experiences through the creation of visually impactful learning interactions, ultimately contributing to the growth of the organization as a whole. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop engaging content by demonstrating creativity, flexibility, and innovation in course and material design
  • Create and design facilitator and participant materials, reference guides, operating procedures, storyboards, scripts and course content
  • Develop materials using adult learning principles and instructional design methodology to ensure high retention of content taught
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define needs and translate business requirements into performance, learning and behavioral objectives
  • Research information about products/procedures by interviewing subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and quality of information
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of courses/curriculum and recommend enhancements
  • Coordinate with management team and outside vendor partners
  • Utilize proficiency in various writing modalities to create detailed process and procedure documentation and standard operating procedures for various work groups within the organization, as well as modify pre-existing writing materials accordingly
  • Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
  • Deliver components according to schedule

Job Requirements

  • 4-5 years of relevant experience is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Instructional Design, or an equivalent program
  • Effective written communication skills
  • Proven experience managing large scale initiatives across multiple lines of business involving many stakeholders is required
  • Practical application of Adult Learning Theories and learning evaluation metrics
  • Experience creating and designing storyboards, scripts, course content and blended learning solutions
  • Ability to be open-minded and flexible is required
  • Ability to adapt and succeed in fast paced environment is required 
  • High level of proficiency of common industry development tools and software applications (MS Office, PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Articulate) is required
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, and E-Learning are preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
