Manager of Information Services Development

 

We’re looking for an exceptional and experienced full-stack Manager of Information Services Development who has proven work experience developing and supporting complex native and progressive mobile applications utilizing current mobile development frameworks. Leveraging a solid knowledge of mobile architecture, frameworks and development tools.

As our Manager of Information Services Development you will have the opportunity to:

As our Manager of Information Services Development you will be expected to:

  • Lead the Mobile Application SDLC utilizing an Agile / Scrum methodology to deliver business critical updates and enhancements for our Mobile App, whilst ensuring quality, timeliness and team-wide adherence to good architectural practice and guidelines. 20%
  • Participate in application solutions including assisting with planning and architectural design, development, resolution of technical issues, and application rationalization. – 20%
  • Understanding and mitigating against the impact of technical design to security, performance and data privacy. 15%
  • Utilize and apply robust analytic thinking with the ability to identify, debug, and resolve technical issues. 10%
  • Provide coaching, technical mentoring and guidance to other Mobile App team members, including, but not limited to developers, designers and QA analysts. 10%
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in resolving complex technical issues. – 10%
  • Provide design guidance that follows the enterprise architecture vision and adheres to applicable application technology guidelines. 10%
  • Leverage business knowledge and interpersonal abilities to build, maintain, and influence relationships with senior leaders in IT and stakeholders. 5%

Job Requirements

The skills you must have are:

  • Direct experience leading technology teams in creating and supporting enterprise-scale public websites and strong knowledge of industry-standard web technologies
  • Direct experience building backend services using NodeJS or SpringBoot
  • Direct experience leading technology teams in defining, creating and supporting customer-facing mobile applications with strong knowledge of industry trends, technologies and platforms
  • Experience building and releasing consumer apps for iPhone and Android
  • A thorough understanding of OOP, design patterns, mobile, and enterprise in mobile application integration.
  • Modern web application development [e.g. AngularJS, VueJS, NodeJS, CSS3, Boostrap];
  • Mobile application development [e.g. iOS, Swift, Android, Java, Apache Cordova/PhoneGap, Ionic]
  • API management [e.g. AWS API Management, Google Cloud Endpoints, MS Azure];
  • Cloud-based platforms and services [e.g. AWS ,Google Cloud Platform, MS Azure];
  • Continuous integration/continuous deployment [e.g. Git, Jenkins, TFS , AWS Code Pipeline];
  • Scripting and Automation [e.g. Bash, Powershell, Google Apps Script];
  • Unit testing using JUnit and related tools.
  • Source control using Git;
  • Application Performance Best Practices and Tuning (Web and Mobile App)
  • Secure Application Development Best Practices (i.e. OAUTH, SAML, OWASP)
  • API Development best practices (i.e. REST, HATEOS)
  • Superb verbal and written communication.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree software engineering, mobile application development, mobile computing, computer science or equivalent.
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience is a plus
